One day, I was curious is there anyone doing the similar things as a street photographer in Taiwan? so I googled the keywords “street photography Taiwan”, then find many street photography that were shot in Taiwan, and some Taiwanese street photography groups. Some are portfolio style of websites, none of them are personal blogging and posting websites.
However, I realized that I made a mistake. I typed and titled my articles in English, and even my website as well. I expect others do the same as well, but it is not.
I then tried to googled the keywords in mandarin “街頭攝影師 台灣”，it came out more results, but most of them are articles interviewing some street photographers in Taiwan, not the website of photographers.
So I came out a conclusion that most “famous” street photographers in Taiwan are “Instagramly famous” cause those being interviewed were famous only because they got many followers on Instagram.
I guess the only one is creating photos and blogging at same time and most well-known for now is “森爸” who I personally do not like at all.
Why? I just don’t find any story or get any feeling about his photos, he talks so much about how masters shoot, how they thought; I mean he was getting paid or invited to give speeches for a while, and in Taiwan, if you don’t talk about masters (in any kind of era), you just don’t look pro…
Long story short, he might be the most famous street photography speaker for now, but I did not learn anything form him yet, not even from his book which I purchased as a mistake.
Therefore, I really feel like I am the most prolific street photographer in Taiwan right now because I carry my GRIII with me everyday, and I did shoot things I feel interested everyday; I was giving weird look every time while shooting things on the road, ground, wall, or the sky.
I guess the only reason not much people seeing my photos is because I am not famous enough or I did not post enough blog post or photo post which I do not want myself to do so yet.
I will keep shooting more, publishing more, and sharing more to be uber prolific!~
