Buy camera as a tool, not as a necklace

Just had a dinner with my family, and an interesting conversation started between the mom and son sit next to our table.

The conversation started with mom yelling at her son and complained about why her daughter also the son’s older sister bought a Fuji DSLR without letting her know in advance; she also did not understand why can her daughter just shoot with her smart phone.

Then the son started explained cause his sister want to look like a pro cause everybody is doing that, she likes the Fuji photo came out the Fuji cam; and here came out the awkward part, she wants to be photographed rather than photographing others…

I believer she is not the only person buying a DSLR to look pro or look cool, my friends do that, too; but at least, my friend use his Canon 5D mark VI pretty often, that is a good thing.

What I would like to share is, use your camera as a tool to create art, to paint with light, not buy it as an accessory hang on your neck to make you like a designer or a pro.
